Its exactly the reaction I'd like to see from more parents terrified that their children will burst in to flames if their boys admit to liking pink. I've had colleagues tell me stories about the only time fathers get involved with kindergarten aged boys at teacher confrences is when they feel they have an "unhealthy" interest in art or might need "toughening up". Otherwise, hands off the wheel. Its a dull, sad commentary.g_whizhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15239758875167277254noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4364614859747751623.post-74188320628284892882011-04-18T22:24:40.553-07:002011-04-18T22:24:40.553-07:00My favorite color is a shade of blue. If it's ridiculous to suggest that I should avoid wearing blue because I have a vagina, why can't a little boy paint any part of himself any color he wants?

Spawn's favorite t-shirt is pink and it THRILLS me right down to the ground that my parents, at least, have come far enough along to know not to broach the subject with me or Spawn. (Small victories. ;)) What my parents and their generation will never understand is that I couldn't give a rat's ass less if Spawn does discover some day that he's gay after I've spent years buying him dolls and an Easy Bake Oven and accessories...as long as he finds a way to make me a grandmother eventually. ;)

~ ChrissiChrissihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13326844175141911720noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4364614859747751623.post-76049412623289019932011-04-16T09:38:41.890-07:002011-04-16T09:38:41.890-07:00@Ian- Rock out, man. I say we "take back"...@Ian- Rock out, man. I say we "take back" the color pink, the same way slightly silly Xtianists have tried to take back the rainbow. That way people in generations to come won't have aneurysms when a boy happens to ...like a color that isn't socially prescribed. Its official. People are idiots.g_whizhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15239758875167277254noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4364614859747751623.post-39887183868018877772011-04-15T15:28:18.353-07:002011-04-15T15:28:18.353-07:00Dude, I'm gonna paint all my shit pink.Dude, I'm gonna paint all my shit pink.Ian Awesomehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18115951536024294052noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4364614859747751623.post-53160994202777751422011-04-15T14:27:32.590-07:002011-04-15T14:27:32.590-07:00Its a little absurd to think that entire ranges of...Its a little absurd to think that entire ranges of colors are off limits to boys/men lest the channel some sort of big gay demon to inhabit them. The liking of a color has as little bearing to the sexual identity of a boy or person as the painting of toenails do. Butttt... half of our population still seems quite content clinging to superstitions and ridiculously uneducated assumptions about gender. Sadly, to the ruin of many.g_whizhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15239758875167277254noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4364614859747751623.post-17534812915076448182011-04-14T18:01:53.339-07:002011-04-14T18:01:53.339-07:00I love the color pink.
